London/Sydney, 28 February 2018: FastForward – the future-focused international music business conference – has announced their second round of speakers, adding another 15 music and entertainment industry leaders to their debut Sydney event taking place on Thursday 12 and Friday 13 April.
FastForward: Sydney marks the second international expansion of the conference series (following success in Amsterdam and London over the last 2 years), and the first foray into the Australasian market. Whilst the conference has a reputation for attracting young industry attendees, the ambition of the events is to gather dynamic forward-thinking people of all ages and all backgrounds.
The FastForward events are different from the ‘standard music conference’ format in three key ways. Firstly, it is forward facing. There is no time spent yearning for years gone by, but rather FastForward gathers a dynamic group of emerging and established leaders who want to shape the future of the industry now. Secondly, it is a deliberately small event, designed for more meaningful networking & discussion, with an event capacity of 180 people – around 50 of whom will speak across the two days. As such there are no showcases, with the focus on connecting with business and creative talent. Thirdly, the highly specialized ‘FastFifteen’ sessions allow speakers to explore complex topics, ensuring that experts can learn from their peers in a more intimate setting.
To help you get to know FastForward: Sydney, FastForward is also launching the ‘FastFifteen’ podcast series this month, in conjunction with The Music Network and Comes With Fries, interviewing members of the FastForward community including past and present speakers in the music, media, and technology industries from across the globe. The first episode, featuring Takayuki Suzuki (ParadeALL, Japan), is available online now at soundcloud.com/fastforward_xyz
